FOOD SAFETY ENGINEER

Responsibility for preventing and solving quality problems. Accompanies and trains people in the execution. This ensures that Abbott products meet standards for food safety. Monitoring, optimization and improvement of the quality of the products in the designated production flow with the specific area of ​​interest to monitor and improve cleanliness of the plant and food safety.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

SANITATION

You will be responsible for the preparation of the sanitation planning. You are allowed to give your unsolicited advice about cleaning activities within production departments. It's your call to assess the cleaning method and improve wherever needed. You are also training (new) operators in the field of sanitation.

good Manufacturing Practice

You are responsible for the GMP inspections and observations about production departments and support and advise on large GMP improvements.

Environment Monitoring Program

Interpret Environment Monitoring Program (EMP) results and signal improvements.

STANDARDS

Monitoring changes in internal or external policies and legislation are part of your job and measuring, assessing, monitoring and approving of the established quality standards and specifications for product, material and process.

DIRECTING STAFF

In your job you are responsible for the quality layout and occupancy of staff and you have functional supervision of the Sanitation Team.

AUDITS

Supervising internal and external audits is part of this job. Same goes for identifying (and after approval by Team Leader / Production Manager) implementing corrective measures on the basis of audit findings.

DEVIATONS

Identify and assess deviations in accordance with procedures and guidelines and correct and timely take action in derogation. Make sure there is no recurrence in deviation.

INFORMATION AND DOCUMENTATION

Develop and maintain product-related documentation in the field of work instructions and procedures and provide periodic reports.

EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND AND WORK EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in Microbiology, Food Science or equivalent. Masters degree preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a similar function is a benefit.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the field of quality (amongst others HACCP) is a preference.
  • Experience and knowledge of microbial processes and their interrelationships.
  • Understanding of the manufacturing environment and basic production operation.
  • Ability to solve problems ranging from basic to complex.
  • Fluent in Dutch and English.
  • Excellent written reporting skills, also in English.
  • Knowledge of and experience with Pest Control and GMP legislation and guidelines.
  • Excellent communication skills on all levels of the organization.
  • Ambition and drive to grow further in the organization.
