WHAT YOU’LL DO
Conducts research under the guidance of a research scientist, project coordinator, or R&D manager. Directs own daily activities utilizing multiple experimental techniques and incorporates appropriate procedures. Correlates and verifies ideas through experimentation. Interacts with other groups and shares information; participates in team activities.
Main responsibilities include:
Responsible for implementing and maintaining the effectiveness of the quality system.
Understands and consistently follows documented procedures.
Conducts experiments, summarizes data and analyzes results, formulates and reviews experimental conclusions with supervisor.
Actively participates in routine maintenance, lab safety; may assume roles of responsibility, such as training or document control.
Applies basic computer skills (includes word processing, spreadsheets, instrumentation-related and Abbott network systems).
Recognizes and assists with the resolution of technical problems. May prepare and deliver presentations of project results to own or other groups.
Sees alternative ways to view or define problems.
Presents information accurately and completely.
Participates in planning project tasks; providing input to accomplish assigned tasks.
Appropriately documents experimental procedures and results according to established guidelines.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU’LL BRING
B.S. or Master’s degree in a life or physical science.
The following are ideal/optional:
BS Chemistry or Biology
1 year of general lab experience
Experience with Alinity or Architect Abbott instruments
