Our location in Charlottesville, VA currently has an opportunity for an Accountant I (Invoice) The Accountant I role is within our Cardiometabolic/Informatics Group located at Charlottesville, VA. The position is responsible for invoicing, revenue recognition, and customer contracts data management.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Collaborates across departments for resolution of order or contract issues
Discusses contract discrepancies with customers
Responsible for contract validation for license approvals in SalesForce.com
Process contract and service delivery invoices in SAP daily
Maintains financial related documentation for all government contracts
Maintain customer sales tax exemption certificates and update sales tax rates in SAP
Evaluate, escalate, or independently resolve any revenue recognition issues with orders sent to finance for processing
Record and track orders in orders database including review of expiring and pending contracts
Process vendor application forms, W-9 requests, and other external communications as needed
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU’LL BRING
Bachelor Degree in Accounting, Finance or Similar Degree (or 4 years of equivalent work experience in Accounting plus a HS Diploma/GED).
One year of work experience in Accounting.
Proficiency with financial systems and tools (Microsoft Excel, QuickBooks, SAP, Microsoft Access)
Financial accounting proficiency (balance sheet, P&L, cash flow, etc.)
Demonstrated ability supporting internal and external financial audit reviews
