You will be part of ABB Product Management for Bordline® M Converters that is the ABB family of onboard Auxiliary converter for rolling stock. Bordline® M Converters are designed in order to fit severe standards and customer requirements in terms of Reliability, Availability, Maintainability, and Safety. In the normal relationship with customers, the evidence of the calculation has to be provided. In order to reduce the time of the production of a technical proposal, you will be responsible of the development of an MS Excel based tool for a fast estimation of reliability calculations.

Tasks:

• Understanding the basics of RAMs Calculations
• Study of relevant standards such as EN 50126, IEC 62278 and MIL-HDBK-217F
• Study of Mil handbook 217 rev. F
• Proposed and develop an MS Excel based tool for the Reliability calculation based on the Bill of Material
• Market research on the most common SW tool

Requirements:

We are looking for:

• master thesis student or recent graduate in Electrics or Electronic Engineering either Mathematics or Physics
• fluent knowledge of English (at least B2 level)
• good PC-literacy, especially for Excel usage
• team working skills and strong attitude for studying and researching

In dependence of your profile, we will focus the activities according your skills. It is required knowledge about statistical calculation and MS Excel.

The work will be placed at ABB Genova HQ and it will start as soon as possible.
