Job description

Tasks:
Responsibilities:
•Perform design, modeling, simulations and implementation of power electronics based apparatus circuits, devices and supporting modules, especially those based on wide band gap (WBG) semiconductors
•Develop the technical requirements for and identify components for the designs
•Plan, build and adapt (if necessary) laboratory test circuits for the device development
•Conduct laboratory test, analyze data, and improve/optimize the designs
•Generate intellectual properties for ABB
•Create technical reports and presentations
•Create ideas and proposals and get buy-in from sponsors
•Travel internationally and work with internal business partners
•Collaborate with external partners including universities, startups and vendors
•Represent ABB in professional conferences and other events
•Perform additional duties, as required

Requirements:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

•PhD graduate of power electronics or electrical engineering major or a Master degree and 3 years working experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Previous experience (academic or professional) in power electronics circuit design and implementation, power electronics integration, magnetic component design, electromagnetic interference analysis & mitigation, electromagnetic compatibility, mechanical design and thermal or cooling design.
• Experience in the design of power electronics circuits.
• Knowledge of and experience working with WBG devices.
• PCB design and implementation experience.
• AC & DC distribution circuit protection knowledge including principles & practices.
• Embedded programming experience.
• Fast leaner as well as an independent, structured, and proactive work style.
• Team player with strong communication skills.
• Strong networking skills matched with natural ability to interact & communicate easily.
