Job Summary :

The person hired for this position willprovide quality engineering leadership and support to currently marketed products and key new product introduction programs. Key focus will be to develop and execute quality strategies and plans for assigned product platforms. Key responsibilities will include working closely with customers on product requirements, interacting with multiple functions on product development activities, qualify new suppliers, and providing marketed product technical support.

Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

·  Assuring compliance to cGMP regulations and internal Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's)
·  Responsible, accountable and the primary spokesperson for product performance, product quality and be the customer representative for assigned products.
·  Helping to drive and foster a quality environment and mindset throughout the business
·  Driving existing product quality improvement through use of continuous improvement methods and tools, such as:  Six Sigma, PPU Product and Process Understanding (PPU), Design of Experiments DOE), Customer Quality Index (CQI) and Quality at the Source. 
·  Directly involved with Test Method Validations for new product programs.
·  Supporting and/or leading efforts on life cycle management, risk management, product and process improvements, and other product documentation efforts.
·  Position will involve working with 3M quality, product assurance, regulatory, manufacturing, laboratory, clinical, and tech service personnel and customers
·  Responsible for Quality Assurance support of a number of key new product programs.  Key activities include quality planning, specification development, early production support, supplier assessment and qualification, change management and final product acceptance requirements.
·  Other duties as assigned. 

Basic Qualifications:

·  Possess a Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution
·  Minimum of two (2) years combined product, quality and/or technical function experience in a private, public, government and/or military environment

Preferred Qualifications:

·  Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Statistics  or an advanced degree in a related technical field from an accredited institution
·  Minimum of four (4) years of combined experience working in a Product, Quality, Engineering, and/or Laboratory/Technical function
·  Previous experience working in a Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulated device, combination, or drug environment
·  Strong demonstrated leadership ability and the ability to lead teams, drive change, work across functions and get things done
·  Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.  These skills should include demonstrated ability to use date to drive solutions
