Job Summary :
The person hired for the position of Production Operator will work in an abrasive mix room, mold or pressing area, kiln oven area, glue room or other production areas within the plant.
This position provides an opportunity to transition from other private, public, government or military environments to a 3M career.
Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
· May include but not limited to:
· Mixing, pressing, and gluing vitrified, resin or other bonded abrasive products
· Prepping and gluing productions
· Cleaning, maintaining, and operating shop equipment like presses, mixers, ovens, kilns, grinders, lathes, balancers, etc.
· Move products from one area to another supporting lean manufacturing flow, including Kanban replenishment.
· Maintain and follow production schedules
· Always adhere to 3M health, safety & environment procedures and regulations
· Ability to learn to operate a forklift
· Occasional liftin gup to 45 lbs.
· Document actions by completing setup sheets as well as production and quality logs
· Other duties as assigned
This position may require:
· Weekend work
· Working overtime
· Working on holidays as needed
· Short notice shift coverage
· Frequent physical demands, including:
· i.e.: lifting up to 50 lbs.
· i.e.: frequent standing/sitting/squatting
This position will require:
· Working 1st shift, 8 to 10 hours a day
Basic Qualifications:
· Possess a High School Diploma/GED or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution
Preferred Qualifications:
· Two (2) years of manufacturing experience in a private, public, government, or military environment.
