Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

·  General:
·  Partnering with sales team to drive product adoption for current products through customer trials, classroom and hands on training
·  Customer Voice of Customer (VOC), problems solving and analysis of performance data
·  Global customer applications development and business engagement
·  Assess intellectual property landscape within development area, and generate new intellectual property as warranted.
·  Work with global 3M team as they introduce solutions to the local markets
·  Document and present development work and customer trials in formal reports or other relevant formats
·  Partner with lab development team and marketing to create new products to meet high value market needs
·  Additional tasks related to product development up to leading phases of new product introduction, as directed
·  Support product documentation through data and instruction sheets
·  Technical Contributions :
·  Completes technical activities to support customers to expand opportunities and reduce risks. 
·  Build understanding of the appropriate industry standards, practices and regulations
·  Design, support, analyze and interpret the results of customer trials
·  Knowledge of customer processes to make recommendations to optimize performance
·  Utilizes knowledge of technical, product, and market information to contribute to development of project strategy.
·  Applies innovative and advanced technical skills to provide support and services in the following areas: application development, internal customers, product localization, technology development, process development, life cycle management, manufacturing support and quality support.
·  Contributions include successful project completion and/or commercialization, achievement of key technical milestones
·  Reviews technical information for marketing and sales literature
·  Partnerships:
·  Builds and leverages a network of support to facilitate project completion.
·  Participates on and may lead global, cross-functional teams. Interacts with customers/clients to better understand customer or client’s processes, requirements, and applications
·  Leadership :
·   Assumes leadership role for technical activities and NPI phases

Basic Qualifications:

·  Possess a Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution
·  Experience working with customers to define electrical product requirements in a private, public, government or military environment

Preferred Qualifications:

·  Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science or related discipline from an accredited institution
·  Experience in NPI, customer engagement, and new product development
·  Experience working with electrical products and/or protective coatings
·  Established decision-making and problem-solving skills
·  Self-motivated with proven ability to apply innovative solutions to problems
·  Excellent communication skills (oral, written and presentation

Location:   Austin, TX

Travel:   May include up to 25% domestic/international
