CUSTOMER SERVICE ADMINISTRATOR
06-2014 - 09-2015 Accounting / Management control My role entailed processing financial transactions from investment plans at the request of LBG clients. To ensure security and to mitigate risk to both the Group and our clients, stringent security checks had to be performed for every individual client. As the products my department were administrating were not conducted on a face-to-face basis, evidence of identity (EoI) often had to secured from clients – some of whom either were unwilling to co-operate or had logistical trouble in securing EoI – before a transaction could take place in accordance with Group policy.
Owing to the wide variety of clients – all with unique circumstances – I was required to communicate via telephone and correspondence with not only our clients but also Independent Financial Advisers, legal offices, national political figures, and more. This enabled me to improve both my professional and communication skills by interacting with a wide variety of personalities, demographics, and professions.
A further aspect of my role was to assist our in-house Financial Crimes team if we believed suspicious activity was taking place regarding either our clients or the investment plans. Some of my proudest moments from my time at LBG were when I was able to assist in halting several cases of fraud and in one instance money laundering.
