Interested in joining our mission to fill store shelves with our ice cream? Our Vermont Manufacturing team is currently looking for a Automation/ Controls Engineer for our St. Albans team.

The role is a member of the North American Ice Cream Engineering Team responsible for the E2E design and delivery of the Capex program. The role will be responsible for all aspects of delivering a variety of projects from collaborating on the brief, working with Design Engineers to complete Concept, Feed and Detailed Engineering, Procurement, Installation and Commissioning.

As an Automation Controls Engineer, you provide automation support & expertise to the facility in the electrical, instrumentation and controls disciplines primarily for batch, continuous processes and packaging systems. You collaborate with the electrical and mechanical maintenance, operations, safety, and Quality Assurance personnel to help deliver business objectives utilizing their technical skills to contribute. You ensure that projects are delivered on time with a strong focus on safety, quality, budget & schedule adherence.

Who You Are & What You'll Do

Work independently to deliver an agreed portfolio of projects under the leadership of the relevant Project Delivery Manager.

Ensure professional project execution at Factories and Sites with strong stakeholder engagement

Support PDM to check feasibility of capex projects working with Cluster Design Engineers and plant personnel to clarify the brief, understand work scope, rough costs and viable timelines.

Work with the Design and Capability Engineers to develop Concept, FEED and Detailed Designs to meet the business need inputting local requirements and constraints as required.

Develop Project Execution Plan and schedule.

Execute the project ensuring adherence to schedule, budget. Manage site construction and contractors ensuring Unilever Construction Standards are applied

What You'll Need to Succeed

A Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering or in a related field with a minimum 3 years' automation and controls experience (Allan Bradley/Rockwell). You'll need to have strong Project Management experience to include: Engineering Design Process, Management Project Delivery Steps and Processes (Plan, Design, Procure, Build, commission, close out). Contract Management & Conflict Resolution Budget Management is needed. Proven background in good plant design and project engineering experience in a manufacturing is a plus. Proficiency in MS Office – Excel / Power Point and Word required. Working knowledge on Engineering software - AutoCAD, MS Project desirable. Travel is approximately 5%
