Thales in London are seeking a System Engineer to be part of a virtual team (s), contribute to all aspects of system integration and system testing including writing of the test specifications, conducting the testing, reporting defects.

Key Responsibilities and Tasks:

· The list below is not exhaustive nor will individuals be expected to be able to undertake all of them. They are given as a guide as to the expected duties of the grade.
· Interfacing with the client, to gain approval of test specifications and to host acceptance testing activities.
· Writing and execution of Test Specifications including:
· Writing of test plans and test strategy documents
· Writing of test specifications, working from system requirements.
· Execute test specifications (according to test plan and project schedule).
· Record results of test execution.
· Raise/investigate/verify defects.
· Maintain agreed quality target/standards.
· Escalate issues to the Lead IVVQ Engineer where necessary.
· Provide status reports to the Lead IVVQ Engineer.
· Working with requirements to identify test methods (IADT)
· Working with requirements to ensure full test coverage and requirements tractability
· Support the IVVQ Manager during gate reviews (TRR, TQR, FQR)
· Accurately reports work progress and estimates to complete against work packages assigned by line manager.
· Investigates problems in the field or with the systems documentation.
· Develop, implement and maintain tools relevant to the Systems IVVQ Engineering function. Assist in the assessment of relevant tools.
· Keep abreast of technical development both within and outside of the company.
· Assist with the production of System IVVQ Engineering estimates at optimum cost.
· Produce quality metrics to measure the soundness of the System IVVQ Engineering processes under your control.
· Working with project planners to provide detailed input to specific project programs.
· Represent System IVVQ Engineering at formal Design Reviews, with particular attention to the reduction of design risks.
· Undertake Cost Reviews as part of a Bid team.

Skills, experience and qualifications needed:

· Has a sound ability to use System IVVQ Engineering tools.
· Has knowledge of the CDM regulations.
· Is aware of configuration control.
· Can produce IVVQ metrics as part of Quality control.
· A working knowledge of project plans.
· Has knowledge of Engineering Safety Management
· The Systems IVVQ Engineers are the testing focal point for the System Engineering process and are part of the resolution of all issues, problems, questions and conflicts in the entire IVVQ system. This requires frequent handling of new and unusual issues; therefore a proven record of working in a Systems IVVQ Engineering environment is required.
· The post holder should have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate at all levels in the spoken and written word. A good outward appearance, self-motivation and the ability to work under pressure are vital.
· The success of the Systems IVVQ Engineering job family relies on the interaction of its engineers at all levels, therefore evidence of team working is required.
· Have attained, or working towards an appropriate professional status or equivalent
