Raw Materials Planner

Job description

The Raw Materials Planner will analyze demand for Castanea raw materials and develop an efficient supplier delivery plan to support the demands of the production schedule. Monitor bulk inventory accuracy and assist/lead in investigation of discrepancies. Communicate and negotiate with resources both on and off-site, including Corporate Purchasing, Logistics, Customer Service, and other Castanea plant departments.

Responsibilities:

· Analyze Castanea's production schedule and order raw materials to support that schedule.
· Monitoring and managing inventory of all raw materials.
· Arrange transportation to deliver bulk and packaged raw materials to the Castanea plant, where necessary.
· Works closely with and backs up Production Scheduler, Production Clerk, and Logistics Execution position.
· Process webcycles for purchase orders
· Perform various other duties as necessary

Desired profile

Qualifications :

·  High School Diploma required. Bachelor's Degree preferred.
·  Minimum 3 years of SAP planning experience in a chemical and/or manufacturing environment.
·  Must be fully proficient with SAP manufacturing, inventory, and customer order management systems.
·  Experience with Truck and Rail transportation.
·  Working knowledge of plant equipment capabilities and familiarity with plant product line.
·  Working knowledge of freight tendering system.
·  Familiarity with the raw material supply process and the raw material requisitioning system.
·  Must be a good negotiator and liaison between the plant and corporate entities as necessary.
·  Ability to build and maintain good working relationships with vendors and carriers.
·  Must be proficient in managing frequent phone & e-mail communications and making changes to work already produced.
·  Other computer skills to include Windows, Word, Excel, Webcycles, and Gmail.
