Technical Support Engineer (003NNV)
Knightdale, NC

The Technical Support Engineer is a phone support role in which you will assist Schneider Electric personnel and customers including electrical distributors, end users, original equipment manufacturers, consultants, and contractors with product selection, configuration and technical support for industrial control products and Variable Frequency Drives. We also provide application and solutions support for Schneider Electric focused segments utilizing our vast product portfolio. Our goal is to ensure a high level of Customer Satisfaction.

What do you get to do in this position?
· Configure and troubleshoot Variable Frequency Drives and Industrial Control Products.
· Configure and troubleshoot remote monitoring and signaling devices which include but not limited to Zelio Smart Relays, GSM/ Analog PSTN modems, communication interfaces, programmable controllers and Human- Machine Interfaces.
· Recommend solutions for industrial control applications including, but not limited to single or three phase circuit disconnect operating mechanisms, 3 phase power systems, load switching and transfer, voltage reduction, phase measurement, voltage monitoring, control and overload protection of squirrel cage inductive motors, solid state and electromechanical relays, sensor and timing and machine safeguarding.
· Diagnose root cause of product failures at a component level utilizing knowledge of inrush and sealed currents, pick-up and seal-in and dropout voltages, effects of voltage variation, AC vibration due to oscillating magnetic field, phase imbalance, current amplification, voltage amplification and peak limiting.
· Assist customers during the design, procurement and installation of Schneider Electric products.
· Provide engineering drawings, wiring diagrams and service bulletins for Schneider Electric product offering.
· Support sales engineers or product managers in developing new business opportunities.
· Collaborate with internal functions such as marketing, engineering, and quality providing feedback about product design, product features and product gaps.
· Develop, update and review knowledge-based documentation including White Papers, frequently asked Questions (FAQs) and troubleshooting guides.

Desired profile

Qualifications :

This job might be for you if you have:
·  B.S. in Electrical Engineering Technologies or related field
·  3-5 years drives experience
·  High level of aptitude and interest in technology
·  A working knowledge of Modbus TCP/IP, Ethernet/IP and Modbus RTU
·  Excellent verbal and written communication skills
·  Detail oriented, self-starter and able to work independently
·  Programmable Logic Controller programming experience with IEC 61131-3 programming languages is a plus
·  Experience in Field Service, Technical Support or Customer Relationship environment a plus
