Job description

Summary of Job Purpose:
Responsible for undertaking and executing continuous improvement projects from start to finish. Perform specific and at times limited portions of more complex assignments. Conduct manufacturing time studies, determines manpower and cost estimates and develops engineering criteria. Support the operation through development of fixturing, processes and capacity planning.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Evaluate production capacity capabilities through a capacity model and implement enhancements to increase the areas of concern
- Develops and deploys plans that ensure the timely availability and effective utilization of labor, facilities, equipment, & tooling resources enabling the achievement of program delivery and cost milestones.
- Lead continuous improvement projects using lean methodologies
- Maximizes efficiency by analyzing layout of equipment, workflow, assembly methods, and work force utilization.
- Develops and sustains monthly KPI's while performing root cause analysis on low performing departments.
- Provide manufacturing data i.e. production control charts, process capability, to improve the process and monitor performance to objective
- Conducts time studies to correct routers and true manufacturing costs
- CAD support for component print drawings, layouts and work center designs
- Provide manufacturing data i.e. production control charts, process capability, to improve the process and monitor performance to objective
- Oversees periodic testing to build and test products that meet government standards
- Ability to conduct/coordinate environmental testing. i.e. salt-fog, moisture resistance

- Ability to conduct electrical testing. i.e. Operating characteristics, Insulation Resistance, Dielectric Withstanding testing, EMI/RFI Shielding, Electrical Endurance

- Ability to conduct mechanical testing. i.e. Shock, Overload cycling

- Ability to conduct/coordinate lighting tests. i.e. Luminance, Illuminated Color

- Ability to organize all test results for Qualification Test Reporting and generate the Qualification Test Report

Required Competencies:

Education / Experience:
 Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution
 Minimum of two years of experience in Manufacturing Industry
 Legally authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship
 This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the
International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within
the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident
(i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee

Preferred Qualifications
- Industrial Engineering Degree
- Strong expertise using the full suite of Microsoft Office Tools
- At least 2 years of demonstrated experience participating and leading project teams
- Experience in manufacturing

- Understands external vendor/supplier relationships
- Identifies opportunities on predefined alternatives for specific assignments of increasing complexity by exhibiting /proficiency of: Development of engineering solutions and engineering calculations.

- Must be a problem solver and self-motivated to perform necessary research
