Volvo Group Trucks Purchasing Australia is looking for a highly motivated Uptime Buyer to service the truck aftermarket in a challenging environment.
Hi/her primary mission is to optimize the parts availability toward the end customer, identifying innovative solutions to improve customer value, and contributing to the cross-functional work with Sales, Engineering and Logistics.
The buyer we are looking for has experience, preferably from the automotive industry. We look for candidates ready to deliver world-class purchasing performance for the Volvo Group. At the same time you will have the opportunity to develop yourself in a global, diverse and inspiring organization.
Mission:
The buyer is accountable for the QDCFTSR performance of the supplier base on his/her scope. He/She is responsible to make sure that the segment strategy is implemented through the selection of the right suppliers, and by continuously securing supplier QDCFTSR performance by using the tools and purchasing/cross-functional network.
QDCFTSR: Quality, Delivery, Cost, Feature, Technology, Sustainability and Risk management.
Core responsibilities and main deliverables :
- Contribute to segment strategies & be an active member in the global network of buyers.
- To secure that supplier selection is aligned with the Segment strategy
- To secure the outcome of the sourcing in a contractual package, and that all agreements are approved and signed
- Execute agreements with suppliers
- Drive all relevant activities to deliver on QDCFTSR targets
- Monitor, identify and mitigate risks in cooperation with SQ&D team
- Forecast cost evolution for scope of responsibility
- Manage and negotiate product/processes changes
- Perform daily purchasing activities related to production orders, logistics and financial flows to the suppliers
- Can be appointed as supplier host
Qualifications:
- University degree in Business, Engineering or related field
- Previous experience in Purchasing and/or negotiation experience in a supplier/customer relationship. Automotive experience is beneficial.
- Previous experience in working in projects and a business oriented mindset with a financial and legal understanding
- Proficient in English
- Good communication skills.
