Production Technician – 1st shift (Normal work schedule 7:00 a.m. to 11 p.m.)

Note: Technicians hired into this role will move to the off-shift once formal shift preference moves are completed for existing internal associates).

A Production Technician in this role would be responsible for performing a number of different tasks and operations typically within Alcon Huntington's full-scale IOL manufacturing environment. Some responsibilities will include:

Preparing, operating and monitoring equipment associated with the manufactured product;
Conducting cosmetic or visual inspection of product and/or parts;
Performing routine product assembly, packaging and cleaning;
Performing quality checks and/or environmental sampling.

Must perform all operations in compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) and document activities performed in compliance with current Good Manufacturing Process (GMP) regulations specified in area SOP's, PHR documentation and product tracking systems. Maintain work area and equipment in a clean, orderly manner at all times. Use process knowledge to recognize and correct day-to-day process discrepancies where possible, bringing unfamiliar situations to attention of Supervisors or other area leaders for guidance and correction. Maintain knowledge of and compliance with area cleaning, dress and safety procedures. Must pass all job-specific or specialized certification programs required for core tasks or specialized assignments.

Minimum requirements

High school diploma or equivalent. Fluent in English.
No prior experience required. Manual dexterity and attention to detail. Ability to function in a fast paced team environment and good interpersonal skills.
