Project Description:

·  Collaborate in engineering activities related to vehicle research, design and development, in a test, design or project management engineering function
·  Work side by side with Nissan engineers in Powertrain, Chassis, HVAC, Body and Trim on future model programs, as well as analyze current models for optimization of quality, cost and performance
·  Support and/or lead engineering R&D studies related to vehicle, system and component design, test and development Examples of past internship projects:

·  Ballast Methods for pickup truck snow plow applications;
·  RR suspension link design for manufacturability;
·  Analysis of body sensitivity affect to mid-frequency road noise;
·  Vehicle roll-over new regulation research & development;
·  Develop parametric analysis of factors affecting restraints system performance as reference for future vehicles;
·  Develop structural designs for strength and stiffness increases and validate through digital and physical confirmation;
·  Conduct confirmation testing on Interior components, develop countermeasures for any item not meeting design expectation;
·  Innovate new test method to better simulate Customer usage of interior components;
·  Fuel system leak test equipment design & build.
Qualifications:

·  Strong interest in automotive engineering – developing the best cars & trucks on the market
·  Must commit to three 12-week full-time rotations (all cannot be in the summer)
·  Must be able to function autonomously in a fast paced dynamic environment and be able to communicate clear recommendations and feedback to other engineers
·  Must be interested in learning how to unite engineering know-how with real world machine performance and product attractiveness
·  Strong multitasking, team-collaboration and organizational skills are a plus
·  Must be able to work full-time during term
·  Must possess a valid United States' driver's license
Education:

·  Must be currently enrolled in school
·  Pursuing a bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering
·  Minimum GPA of 3.0
