WHAT TO EXPECT

Here, you’ll design, develop and shape the future of our electronic systems by helping us find visionary developments in everything from hybrid vehicles and infotainment to advanced electronic systems integration and electrics.

This role will be within Platform Diagnostics and Software team within the Chassis Electronics (CE) section of Electrical Engineering (EESE). This role is for an experienced and highly motivated System, Software and Controls Engineer with responsibility for the design and development of Chassis Control Module.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

To be successful, you’ll come to this role with a thorough understanding of embedded software design and development process in real-time applications along with experience of virtual test, component test and vehicle testing including SIL, HIL, etc. You’ll have experience of safety critical systems and software (including standards such as ISO26262, IEC61508 or similar) along with a strong understanding of automotive networking, diagnostics and fault-handling techniques as well as related system development tools (such as CANalyzer, ASL, CANape, etc.).

You’ll be familiar with model- and code-based software development principles including embedded 'C', relevant standards such as MISRA and Automotive SPICE along with previous experience in automotive, electronics or engineering software, although strong candidates with relevant control system experience from other industries such as aerospace will also be considered.

You should also have experience utilising virtual validation tools and techniques such as desktop Simulation tools (e.g. IPG CarMaker) or HiL environments (e.g. dSPACE), and associated plant model development, component and system-level issue investigations including appropriate problem-solving and reporting tools (Six Sigma, 5D, Is / Is Not, Fault Tree, etc.). Finally, you’ll be able to demonstrate strong knowledge of C programing for embedded platforms and experience in software development and integration in an AUTOSAR compliant environment.
