Python Software Engineer - Athena Core

The platform

We are looking for exceptional candidates to join the core Athena development team. Athena is a cross asset platform that forms the back-bone of some of our main trading businesses including FX, Commodities, Rates and Credit. From a technical view point, Athena comprises a set of low level components implemented in C++ for performance with most of the business logic implemented in Python for rapid development. More recently we are incorporating web technology into Athena to deliver best in class user applications over the web. The platform is highly agile and its continuous release process allows us to achieve an extremely quick turnaround for business requirements

 

The Role

This particular role is focussed on deploying our proven platform over the web both inside and outside of the firm. As a member of the team you would have exposure to some of the latest web technologies (HTML5/JS/React/TypeScript) as well as all the pricing and risk components of Athena.

As part of the Athena Core team, you would be expected to work closely with both front office technology and quantitative research and other groups within the core Athena development team.

The Candidate

We are looking for exceptional developers that have a proven track record of delivering quality code quickly. Strong problem solving skills are essential as is a commercial attitude.

Most of the development will take place in Python and web-technologies, so experience in these would be a plus, but not a requirement as long as you can show excellent development skills in other languages.

Prefer excellent top-tier engineering/CS/maths schools.
