JPMorgan Chase's Corporate Controllers is a global organization of about 1,500 colleagues, operating through a partnership among Corporate Accounting Policies, Corporate Regulatory Policy & Reporting and Corporate Financial Reporting, Corporate Sector Accounting, Global Finance Operations (GFO), Global Finance India, and Finance Platform Strategy & Controls.  Working together, our strengths and resources enable us to ensure the integrity of the JPMorgan Chase consolidated books and records, and the results of individual legal entities within the Firm. The controllership function is focused on ensuring accountability and improving the organization's credibility. We focus on accounting, financial controls, systems and reporting.

The HR Controllers organization is responsible for ensuring the overall integrity and validity of the Compensation impacts to the financial statements and controls over the transaction cycle. The group performs critical reporting and controls functions for the organization, including legal entity, financial and regulatory.  This role will be part of the EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) Regional HR Controllers team – this team is responsible for the accounting and controllership of the regions $5billion annual Compensation expense and associated balance sheet positions.   This coverage includes 33 countries and 108 Legal entities.  This role will need to interface with various P&A groups, Legal entity Controllers, and the Corporate Controller’s group on an ongoing basis.  A strong background in accounting with previous compensation accounting experience is preferred.    

 
Responsibilities include:

·   Compensation expense analytics and reporting to various internal stakeholders – LOB P&A, LECs, SFOs, Tax, Audit
·  Functional HR & Payroll Balance Sheet analytics and reporting
·  Location support for General Ledger Reconciliation and Substantiation
·  Defined Benefit and Defined Contribution Pension accounting
·  Complete HR & Compensation related financial disclosures for regional Financial Statements & Regulatory reporting
·  Participation in Control related activities – SOX, Risk & Control Self-Assessment

Qualifications:
·  3-5 years of relevant experience required in accounting or finance, with demonstrated career progression
·  Part/Fully qualified accountant
·   Basic understanding for material Accounting Policies that relate to HR, Compensation and Payroll activity
·  Data quality control mindset & focus, identifies and escalates information deficiencies
·  Ability to clearly communicate expense information (drivers, trends) to business heads necessary to manage expense targets
·  Structured mindset with process/continuous improvement orientation
·  Clearly presents and explains output of analysis
·  Strong interpersonal and presentation skills
·  Understands and able to apply accounting principles to line of business activities
·  Establishes and maintains effective partnerships with colleagues and clients
·  Creative self-starter with strong initiative, ability to take ownership and work independently as well as contribute to the broader team
·  Ability to multi-task and succeed in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
·  Excellent oral and written communication skills.
·  Experience preferred with automated financial systems, database management, worksheet-modeling tools (Excel).
·  Previous JPMC general ledger experience preferable – e.g. SAP,CDGL.
