The junior big data architect will be a member of a team of consultants and architects designing and delivering information management solutions for clients using traditional and big data techniques. There will be a hands on component to the role, and the successful architect will grow both their design and managerial skill by working with offshore and near shore IBM staff in this client facing role.
You will design and deliver information management solutions for clients across all industries in the UK and interface with Design and delivery teams comprising programme and project managers, client staff, business analysts, developers and testers and also various client and IBM subject matter specialists.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
· Hands on end to end implementation of Big data engagements
· Hadoop frameworks and ecosystems - Hortonworks or Cloudera, Big Insights or similar
· Experience of using the Apache Open Source components like HDFS, HIVE, HBASE, Impala, Flume, Sqoop or Mapreduce
· Familiarity with Apache Open Source projects like Tez, Atlas, Zeppelin or others
· Development skills like Pig / Python / Java or C++ or similar
· Database (especially NOSQL databases) and operating system skills. SQL and/or Linux
· Ability to clearly articulate solutions (both verbally and in writing)
· Curious and with a keen attention to detail
· Industry experience of hands on implementation of big data solutions as a developer is essential
