Role Summary/Purpose

The Lead Controls Hardware Engineer will be responsible for utilizing technical skills to apply control modules, passive and smart sensors, electronically controlled actuators, and other electro-mechanical devices to industrial natural gas engines. Involved in long-term planning, providing input into the overall controls strategy and supporting processes to ensure the team meets business needs across the global organization.

Essential Responsibilities

As the Lead Controls Hardware Engineer, you will:

·  Development and application of core electrical / electronic hardware components for engine control systems
·  Creates, integrates, and maintains Controls hardware development processes that meet business needs across the organization and mentors engineers on their use
·  Identify, develop, evaluate, and introduce engineering solutions to meet near term and long range engineering needs for Controls software / hardware, sensors, and actuators
·  Work with internal and external stakeholders to specify and procure control hardware
·  Validation of hardware components
·  Provide support to other functional areas for the transition from product development to release
·  Provide troubleshooting, testing, analysis, technical support and direction to other functional areas on resolving manufacturing, procurement, quality, service, and reliability problems as necessary

Qualifications/Requirements

·  Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or other engineering major
·  Minimum of 3 years of experience developing product requirements, specifications and validation plans including a minimum 1 year experience in hardware design and/or application

Desired Characteristics

·  Demonstrated proficiency in applying control modules, sensors, and actuators to automotive or industrial engines
·  Practical experience in test methodologies for HW (Hardware) components, for example HiL (Hardware in the loop) testing
·  Experience with simulation and modeling programs in industrial applications
·  Master's Degree or other degree in Electrical / Mechatronic engineering
·  Demonstrated proficiency in troubleshooting with Controller Area Network (CAN) communications and electronic hardware
·  Leadership and organizational skills required to manage multiple projects and/or activities in a global environment
·  Demonstrated proficiency in technical writing, oral, listening and presentation skills
