Overview:
As a Functional Safety Intern you will review and identify the functional safety requirements for your product and manage the generation of the safety case. You will work closely with Continental functional safety engineers to develop functional safety architecture(s) (HW, SW and Systems). You will be a member of a worldwide development team with a leading global position. Products include: body control modules, lighting modules, gateways, seat control, window control and an assortment of wireless products.

Core Responsibilities:
• Support system safety development and safety case generation for Continental programs
• Hazard analysis, safety concept(s), DFMEA(with safety extensions), FTA, FMEDA, etc
• Support the continued development of a safety culture at Continental.
• Support global collaboration of the continuous improvement of Continental functional safety processes.
• Support the development of functional safety competencies within the Continental Troy team.
• Import and maintain safety case
• Attend appropriate meetings to support project development
• Work as a member of a global team
Additional Responsibilities:
• Support functional safety assessments/audits on adjacent programs
• Stay current with the evolution of functional safety methodologies
• Support global functional safety workshops as necessary

Desired profile

Job Requirements

Required Qualifications:
• Must be enrolled in an accredited engineering degree program
• Must maintain a minimum GPA of a 2.8

Preferred Qualifications:
• Preferably pursuing a bachelors of science in Electronics or Software or Systems engineering
• Knowledge of DOORs, Visio, MS suite.
