COMPANY DESCRIPTION

CB&I/AREVA MOX Services, LLC is a consortium of companies based in Aiken, SC and formed to advance the Department of Energy's mission to dispose of surplus weapon grade plutonium. The plutonium is disposed of by mixing it with uranium and forming a mixed oxide (MOX) fuel for use in existing nuclear reactors. After the MOX fuel is irradiated in the reactor, the plutonium can no longer be used for nuclear weapons. AREVA Federal Services provides resources to MOX Services for the design, construction, licensing and operations of the MOX Fuel Fabrication Facility (MFFF) to be built at the Savannah River Site. Resources provided are in the following disciplines: Licensing, ES&H, Integrated Safety Analysis, QA, Engineering Assurance, Process Engineering, Systems Engineering, Design and Engineering (Structural, Electrical, I &C, Seismic, Nuclear Criticality, Piping, Mechanical, HVAC), Project Safety, Procurement, Project Controls, Software Design, Training, Records Management, Operations, and Information Technology.

POSITION DESCRIPTION

AREVA Federal Services LLC, a subsidiary of AREVA, is seeking a Mechanical Field Engineer III .

Under moderate supervision, this position is responsible for Piping/Mechanical Field Engineer is responsible for coordinating the day-to-day field piping installation activities on the MOX Project. The individual in this role ensure adherence to design basis and quality requirements for all assigned pipe/mechanical and support installation work.

Additional responsibilities will include the following:
· Review/interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and other documents.
· Provide technical assistance to the Piping Supervisor and Superintendent and keeps them informed on matters relating to quality and quality control.
· Review of Work Packages in planning, working and closure.
· Execute the required duties and activities with little to no technical direction.
· Prepare, revise, and perform construction work packages.
· Perform field walk-downs and inspections to review work for conformance with design requirements, applicable codes/standards and project procedures.
· Prepare Field Change Requests and other related technical documentation.
· Gather approved required documents and information to support the successful completion of relevant construction activities/requirements.
· Provide clarifications of drawings, specifications, and other technical documents as necessary to support construction.
· Achieve successful completion of assigned work responsibilities on time, within budget, schedules, and contract requirements.
· Assist in test package closure activities.
· Manage work priorities and work independently with minimal supervision.
· Responsible for adhering to and promoting safe work practices.

Desired profile

Qualifications :

All candidates must meet the following minimum requirements in order to be considered for this opportunity. Candidates who exceed minimum qualifications may be considered for a higher level position.
· 
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering/Engineering Technology, plus a minimum of 3 to 5 years of directly related mechanical/piping field engineering experience.

· 
Extensive knowledge of the Mechanical/Piping Construction process.

· 
Strong communication skills including the ability to comprehend and convey detailed technical data.

· 
Strong problem identification and problem resolution skills.

· 
Possesses comprehensive knowledge of related engineering standards, techniques and criteria.

· 
Demonstrated good leadership qualities.

· 
Ability to work effectively with all levels of staff and management.

The following requirements are desired and will be used to differentiate all candidates who apply for this position.

·  Experience with AutoCAD, Microstation, SmartPlant, and/or Support Modeler.
·  Prior Nuclear experience.
·  Working knowledge of other discipline scopes, roles and responsibilities.
·  Working knowledge of OSHA and other construction related rules and regulations.
·  Experience in construction management, project management.
