Purpose of the job;

As part of Alstom Academy for Rail the responsibility of this post is to provide technical training predominately for Metro Transport Northern Line in a timely, quality and cost effective manner.  As the trainer you will be required to work in both Golders Green and Morden and on occasion provide training UK wide for the Academy.  the trainer will be working closely and in partnership with Operational Management, EHS, HR and Trainers/Assessors to maintain a robust training and development functional and role based (maintenance, manufacturing and safety critical) competency assessment process. 

Main duties and responsibilities will include;

·  Deliver technical training for maintenance staff, as part of a complete training cycle
·  Carry out Design and Development of new and existing training requirements
·  Undertake assessment and observation of staff in accordance with ALSTOM Competency Management System (CMS)
·  Review training material following changes in legislation, customer requirements and technology
·  Liaise with engineers, for the development of new and existing training material
·  Keep accurate records of training, assessments and reassessments conducted, ensuring all are audit compliant
·  Ensure that all training records are kept in accordance with ALSTOM Control Records Procedure
·  Provide regular and timely updates/feedback and KPI's to direct reporting line
·  Assist in maintaining competence based assessment scheme for all Safety Critical staff
·  Ensure all training activities and materials meet with relevant organisational and statutory policies, including health and safety, employment and equality laws
·  Develop self, and maintain knowledge in relevant field at all times
·  Work flexible hours including occasional shifts, nights and weekends as directed
·  To undertake other Training and Development activities as required

  Candidate requirements;

Education;

·  Essential:
·  Electronic/electrical qualification, City & Guilds qualification or relevant experience
·  Basic IT literacy in Word, Excel, PowerPoint
·  Desired
·  A1 Assessor supplemented by NVQ Presentation Modules (e.g. L10, L12)
·  PTTLS or EATS qualified

·  Experience in electronics and mechanical repair/maintenance
·  Experience working within a Rolling Stock Maintenance environment
·  Confident presenter and leading groups at all levels of experience
·  Ability to coach others
·  Responsible for the overall continued development of employees
·  Good communicator
·  Strong investigative and analytical skills, to identify and implement best practice
·  Has the ability to consistently produce accurate, factual, and detailed information
·  Team Player. Supports team members
·  Ability to complete work to a planned timescale
