Job description
Tasks:
Under general guidance of a Supervisor or more-experienced Engineer, this person will perform various engineering duties requiring the exercise of judgment and application of standard engineering principles & practices. This person will pursue initiatives to improve effectiveness of the group and increase customer satisfaction.
Typical duties/responsibilities for engineering may include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Perform various engineering tasks involving such functions as analysis, design, development, testing, installation, and service (while working from instructions, drawings, proposals, specifications, and/or other pertinent information).
• Prepare specifications and related documents in accordance with requirements, established formats, and general instructions.
• Review and analyze a variety of engineering data, documents, & reports.
• Collaborate with business teams to review processes and identify/implement opportunities for improvements (applying Lean concepts & tools).
• Manage project execution and time-lines, coordinate team members, report progress, and manage expectations / risks / issues.
• Coach a culture of Continuous Improvement and train employees on Lean concepts, tools, & techniques (when appropriate).
• Additional duties may be assigned, as required.
COMPLEXITY OF TASKS:
• Duties require thorough understanding of standard engineering theories, concepts, principles, and techniques.
• Work is subject to general overview to ensure quality.

Requirements:
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor's degree in an Engineering-oriented field of study.
• 2 years of professional experience working in manufacturing and/or engineering.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering (i.e. BSIE) or related fields of study.
• Experience working with Operational Excellence and/or Continuous Improvement programs (e.g. Lean Manufacturing, Toyota Production System [TPS], Six Sigma, Kaizen, 4Q, Process Improvement, DMAIC, Gemba/Genba, Statistical Process Control / SPC, etc.) with proven analytical / data analysis skills.
• Experience with project management, especially with data-driven technology systems (e.g. Bill of Material [BOM] tools, MRP Implementation / Upgrades, utilization of Data Collection & Automation systems, etc.).
• Proven history of serving as a Change-Agent (with the ability to share measurable results).
• Experience using computer databases, applications, & systems (e.g. SAP, MS-Office, etc.).
• Excellent communication skills (written & verbal).
