Tasks:
Joining our Robotics Business Unit in Singapore and reporting to the Packaging Business or Operation Manager, your key areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to:

• Leading the mechanical design and development activities for robotic packaging systems including business development, concept, proposal, prototyping, design, review, execution, validation, verification and acceptance test stages, risk assessment, equipment or material or components sourcing, mechanical design process optimization and packaging system standardization.
• Specify, design and evaluate mechanical and electromechanical portions of packaging systems and components by applying principles of mechanics, thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, and materials engineering.
• Research robotic packaging system design options, explore new and existing material, equipment, and functional unit etc. to perform experiments to determine design feasibility.
• Evaluate packaging system or functional unit prototypes' performance and identify possible improvements.
• Perform reliability and safety analyses of functional units and assembly using experiment data and design principle.
• Create and implement suitable tests to verify designs to achieve mechanical and safety requirements.
• Utilize Solidwork, AutoCAD, Eplan engineering software to create mechanical parts and assembly drawings, work with vendor to produce mechanical parts and assembly, create testing plan and so on.
• Serve as a technical leader for robotic packaging projects, ensuring completion of mechanical activities within projects' schedule and budget.
• Assist in the creation and release of design specifications, commercial proposals, RFQ, non-conformance reports and necessary documents for designs, applicable standards and procedures.

Desired profile

Requirements:

To be considered for this role, you should have a Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, with minimum 5 year working experience in factory automation environment and more than 3 years working experience in robotic packaging industry. Experience in designing standard packaging machines and understanding of machinery safety standards along with hands-on experience in constructing standard packaging machines will be an added advantage. You must have extensive experience with Solidwork, AutoCAD and strong communication and negotiation skills.
